Luffa Gourd - Luffa Aegyptiaca
This unique gourd produces a dishcloth/sponge once it is mature. Before setting fruit, its yellow flowers are excellent for pollinators. Young luffas can be harvested and eaten. The taste is similar to zucchini.
Plants prefers full sun and can grow up to 20 feet tall. Trellising is required.
