1818 Farms Gives Back To The Community with Sister Schubert, Betty Sims Event

On October 16th, 120 guests enjoyed a delicious luncheon in the garden at 1818 Farms prepared by Jakob Reed of Albany Bistro. Following lunch, the guests were treated to a cooking demonstration and book signing by two fabulous, well-known cooks, Sister Schubert (Patricia Barnes, the “roll lady”) and Decatur’s Betty Sims, owner of Scrumptious, Inc., a food business specializing in speaking, writing, and cooking classes.

The proceeds from this event were dedicated to the speakers’ charities: The Barnes Family Foundation, caring for God’s children everywhere, and the Sims Family ALS Research Fund through the Community Foundation Fund of Nashville, helping to find a cure for Lou Gehrig’s disease.

These good friends shared heart-warming stories about their foundation work and their adventures together. While the guests enjoyed their lemon curd blueberry trifle, Betty and Patricia demonstrated how to make this beautiful, scrumptious dessert.

Everyone is looking forward to a repeat of this event next spring!
