I went back to Athens to collect Kroaker and then met a Tennessee farmer in Elkmont to buy two pygmy baby goats, feed and hay. I brought all back home in my SUV – the goats in the dog carrier. Taming sessions began that afternoon with Gamble and Eliza and our neighbors, the Paynes, petting and holding the goats. They were terrified and wanted to stay close to Kroaker – sometimes on his back. He is a very kind and patient dog. I hope he stays in the pen tonight.
