Guests Enjoy “Dinner on the Farm”
Last Friday at 1818 Farms, 65 guests enjoyed a delicious and fresh four-course Farm-to-Table dinner prepared by Chef Jakob Reed of Albany Bistro in Decatur.
While soft jazz music by A Mellow Tone played, guests mingled and enjoyed a variety of appetizers and viewed the garden and the animals. A favorite moment of the evening was when our babydoll sheep lamb, Ollie, enthusiastically leaped through the air doing his famous little kicks as he ran towards the fence to meet our visitors.
Guests were seated at long farm style tables that were decorated with flowers and herbs grown at 1818 Farms. Arrangements of zinnias, dahlias, tansy, cockscomb, asters, goldenrod and fresh herbs complimented the vintage variety of china place settings.
Chef Jakob introduced each course and explained where the ingredients were grown. Some of the local providers included: Champion Farms, and 1818 Farms.
Guests left with a new appreciation for local farm produce cuisine and anticipation for the next dinner in October!
