Buttercup is sick today
Yesterday one of our new lambs, Buttercup, developed diarrhea. We were concerned because lambs are very delicate and she could get much sicker very quickly. I called the breeder in Kentucky and she told me to give Buttercup Pepto Bismol with a syringe. She also told me to take her temperature rectally, and if it was as high as 105 degrees, to get her to a vet. I held the lamb and my sister-in-law, Margaret-Anne, inserted the thermometer! It was 105.9 degrees, so then we took all the other lambs’ temperatures, and they were all around 104 to 105. Maybe they are all sick. I have given Buttercup electrolytes and other things to help her get well. “Everything” looked much better today, but she still needs to have her bottom washed. I now have lots more “children” to worry about when they are sick.
